We use "session cookies" from VG Wort, Munich, to measure access to texts in order to capture the likelihood of copying. Session cookies are small units of information that a provider stores in the visitor's computer memory. A randomly generated unique identification number, known as a session ID, is stored in a session cookie.Additionally, a cookie contains information about its origin and the storage period. Session cookies cannot store any other data. These measurements are conducted by INFOnline GmbH according to the Scalable Central Measurement Method (SZM). They help determine the likelihood of copying individual texts for the remuneration of legal claims from authors and publishers. We do not collect any personal data through cookies.
Many of our pages are equipped with JavaScript calls, through which we report accesses to the collecting society Wort (VG Wort). This enables our authors to participate in the distributions of VG Wort, which ensure the legal remuneration for the use of copyright-protected works according to § 53 UrhG.
It is also possible to use our services without cookies. Most browsers are set to automatically accept cookies. You can disable the storage of cookies or set your browser to notify you whenever cookies are sent.
FAST Tracking
1. General Scope and Description of Data Processing
We use FAST to accurately attribute the success of an advertisement. The data is automatically deleted after 90 days. No profiling takes place. FAST uses a unique key that cannot be attributed by third parties, making users non-traceable. Personalized advertising is not possible with FAST.
FAST establishes a connection between a click on an advertisement, e.g., an ad, and an action, e.g., a purchase or a sign-up or registration.
The information transmitted to us is solely for the purpose of correctly attributing the success of an advertising medium and the corresponding billing.
FAST does not store cookies or cookie-like data on your device.
When generating the device fingerprint, only non-personal parameters are combined (browser settings, timezone, CPU class, color depth, browser language, etc.).
2. Scope and description of data processing when using Google Ads / Microsoft Ads
In an action, the order number and the shopping cart value of the order are usually transmitted and stored by us for 90 days. Personal data such as name, phone number, or address are explicitly not collected or stored.
Additionally, the following values can be transmitted:
-
ID (sequential number)
-
ClickID
-
Purchase time
-
Currency
-
Conversion Name (Shop order or Lead)
The processing of the device fingerprint takes place on the server of the respective customer. If integration is done via Google Tag Manager, then the device fingerprint processing occurs via the Smarketer Host-Europe server in Strasbourg.
Due to high security standards, such as an HTTPS connection, the transmission of conversion data to our HOST-Europe server located in Strasbourg is secure. The transfer of the export file and the processing of the data (ClickID, Conversion Name, timestamp, order value, currency) is done according to Google Ads / Microsoft Ads to an American server.
The software is configured so that no profiling takes place.
3. Purposes of processing
The information transmitted to us is used solely for the purpose of correctly attributing the success of an advertising medium and the corresponding billing, and is justified by our legitimate interests according to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR.
4. Duration of storage
The data described in this processing will be automatically deleted after a storage period of a maximum of 90 days.

Web Offers
Our website and our mobile web offerings use the "Scalable Central Measurement Method" (SZM) from INFOnline GmbH (https://www.infonline.de) to determine statistical values for assessing the likelihood of text copying.
Anonymous measurement values are collected in this process. The access number measurement uses either a session cookie or a signature created from various automatically transmitted information from your browser for the recognition of computer systems. IP addresses are processed only in anonymized form.
The procedure was developed with consideration for data protection. The sole purpose of the procedure is to determine the probability of copying individual texts.
At no time will individual users be identified. Your identity remains protected at all times. You will not receive any advertising through the system.
