Effective Microorganisms for Autumn in the Garden
The use of Effective Microorganisms in autumn can be very beneficial. Strong trees, loose soil in spring, healthy lawns, compost that can be used again in the coming spring. You can read all this and more here.
Tree Care
Once the leaves have fallen, you can give your trees one last EM treatment to ensure they remain strong and healthy throughout the winter. Pests will not settle on the tree to overwinter. The infection pressure in spring is much lower.
Spraying
EM-Alb active, Neem oil and EM ceramic powder are mixed and z.B. sprayed using a backpack sprayer. These three components create a supportive and regenerative environment.Pests and diseases automatically decrease.

Tree coating:
To prevent pests from nesting in the bark of trees, it can be protected with a EM-ceramic-tree coating. This is especially recommended for young trees. Cold cracks are also prevented by this tree coating.

Anyone who wants to learn more about these two autumn treatments can watch our video on it. There you will also find exact quantity specifications.
Tree restoration with Bokashi depots:
Especially in organic fruit cultivation, it is important to supply the root zone with organic matter and nutrients. The treatment of diseased shrubs and trees with Bokashi is popular. By burying Bokashi deposits in the crown area, essential nutrients are supplied back to the tree. The tree regenerates. The natural defenses are mobilized again, and pests and diseases decrease. How this works exactly can be read on our homepage.

Fruit
If you care for your fruit trees with EM throughout the year, you will get fruit that is even tastier, more perfect in fruit formation, and rich in bioactive substances. This fruit withstands transport and storage very well. Those who bring their apples to the cider mill can spray the fruit beforehand with a EM-Alb-aktiv-dilution , as it may stay there for a few days before being processed. Injured spots will not brown or rot this way.

Lawn care
Autumn is the perfect time to care for your lawn, as it should be supplied with nutrients, EM, and minerals once a year to strengthen the soil structure. The result is a soft, lush lawn without weeds or moss.
The exact procedure is shown in our video on lawn renovation. Here you will also learn how we treat heavily stressed areas.

A warm blanket for winter
Harvested garden beds should not be left fallow, but rather covered with a layer of mulch. In spring, you will be rewarded with loose, fragrant soil. To plant, simply push the mulch aside. Those who make Bokashi grass from their lawn clippings, which is a highly underestimated fertilizer, and apply it to the bed will have a completely natural and safe protection against voracious snails.
When mulching in conjunction with EM , rotten spots and snails are a thing of the past.
Mulching offers many advantages, not only as a warm winter coat in the cold season. It is also very useful during the gardening season, not least because it significantly reduces the need for watering. In the previous blog post on our homepage, you can read about how beneficial mulching is for the soil and the gardener.

Composting
In the garden, a lot of material is generated now. If it is composted with EM , it can already be used as compost in the garden in spring.
Procedure:
The material should be well reduced in size or even shredded. For every 20 cm layer of material, add the following:
- 2 % EM-Alb active (dilute 1:1 with water, unless the material is very moist, then use it undiluted)
- 2 % Rock flour
- 5 % Biochar
Press down well and protect from rain.

Other tips and tricks for autumn
Refresh houseplants
On warm days, houseplants can now be taken outside and sprayed with an EM-Alb-active dilution. The leaves should also be moistened from underneath.
Peas and beans should definitely be kept – no fear of pathogens with EM
Harvested peas and beans do not need to be disposed of along with their roots or even burned. Those who EM in the garden do not have to fear the pathogens that often arise there. This way, the valuable nitrogen-fixing nodules remain on the roots of the beans and peas, and a large part of the nitrogen stays in the system.
Fertilizing
So that late vegetables (cabbage, celery, late carrots…) can still grow well, they should now be watered with diluted Bokashi juice .
Seed potatoes
Those who want to keep seed potatoes can dust them with EM ceramic powder .The practice has shown that seed potatoes that are dusted immediately after harvest exhibit very good resistance in the next season and yield large harvests.
